Two Blogs

The first blog I found related to American Eagle Outfitters was:
The Do-Nothing American Eagle

This blog is basically an attempt to unite student protesters and boycott American Eagle's clothing. It is in response to the issues over contractors and suppliers for the clothing line and how they are supposedly mistreated. At the end of the blog, the author lists a number of schools that are participating in the boycott. They also list a number of ways to get involved to fight against the clothing brand.

American Eagle Outfitters Promotion

This blog praises American Eagle Outfitters' marketing promotion (try on a pair of AE jeans and get a free movie pass for AMC theaters). The author comments that is an awesome way for two mega-brands to unite and benefit their customers. The author also comments that it is different than usual promotions and that it is great that AE is counting on their products to sell themselves when people try them on.

The particular way that this blog tries to organize a boycott is very interesting. My final project also focuses on a crisis situation where there is potential for organized protest and boycotting. It would be a good idea for my company to pay close attention to blogs like these that pertain to its crisis. Here is my Beyond Petroleum blog.
